Happy New Year!
I hope you were able to attend the Information Technology Audit &
Control Conference in December. Compliments were received for the improved
facilities, lunch and snacks. All that, plus seven CPEs and it was free to
members! If you were not able to attend, I hope you will be able to do so
this coming December when we do it all over again.
On January 12th, Mitchell H. Levine will present on
uncovering control issues, which in many instances are even unknown to most
experienced auditors. Mitchell has
devised unique methods for performing compliance testing which disclose
major gaps in an organization’s control design. And the fee to members is
only $100!
I often wonder if these messages are being read. So to find
out, please come up to me at our next event and let me know. As a thank you,
I will see that you will receive an additional ticket for the raffle. Board
members and their associates are exempt from this offer.
The Auditor’s Toolbox page has been updated with links to all of the
2009 events sponsored by ISACA International. Please take a look to see if
there is an event being offered that would help you in your career.
Would you believe we are halfway through our chapter year? In
February the Board will be looking for replacements for several Directors
and VPs who will be coming off after many years of service. If you are
interested in filling one of those positions, please let me or another
Director/VP know of your interest.
Kind regards,
George
